As part of its ongoing strategy to refresh its primetime programming, Star Plus is set to bid farewell to two of its current fiction offerings, ‘Aarti Anjali Awasthi’ and ‘Kabhi Neem Neem Kabhi Shehed Shehed’, over the coming weeks.
‘Aarti Anjali Awasthi’, which originally launched as ‘Advocate Anjali Awasthi’ in August 2024, is a courtroom and family drama that follows the journey of a determined lawyer, Anjali, as she battles injustice in a male-dominated legal system. Following a generational leap in June 2025, the narrative shifted focus to Anjali’s daughter, Aarti, a fearless investigative journalist fighting for truth and justice. Despite its compelling premise and strong performances from Shritama Mitra and Puneet Chouksey, the show struggled to maintain ratings momentum. It is expected to go off-air by late September or early October.
Meanwhile, ‘Kabhi Neem Neem Kabhi Shehed Shehed’, which premiered in June 2025, failed to make a significant impact despite its promising storyline. The show, starring Afia Tayebali and Abrar Qazi, explored the clash between tradition and modernity through the unlikely romance of a disciplined botanist and a flamboyant celebrity chef. Though adapted from the Bengali hit Kothha, the series never received the promotional push it needed and is now set to conclude after a brief run, with its final episode airing on Monday 22nd September.
