Star Plus commemorated its 25th anniversary with a glittering edition of ‘Star Parivaar Awards 25’, held in Mumbai on Saturday, 20th September. The grand celebration brought together both current and former stars of the channel, honouring its rich legacy and enduring impact on Indian television.
As anticipated, flagship series ‘Anupamaa’ dominated the evening, clinching the Favourite Show accolade. Lead actress Rupali Ganguly was recognised with multiple honours, including Best Maa, BFF/Dukh Sukh Ka Saathi, and the spirited Pangebaaz Sadasya award.
Shruti Ulfat (‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’) was named Best Saas, while the Best Pita title was jointly awarded to Amar Upadhyay (‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2’) and Rohit Purohit (‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’). Tanisha Mehta (‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2’) took home Favourite Beti, and Samridhii Shukla (‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’) was celebrated as Favourite Bahu.
Among the younger talent, Urva Rumani charmed audiences and judges alike, winning Best Chhota Sadasya. Shagun Sharma earned the quirky Sabse Pangebaaz Sadasya title, while Shritama Mitra was applauded as Best Beti.
From ‘Udne Ki Aasha’, Sachin and Sayli were crowned Favourite Jodi, with Kanwar Dhillon and Neha Harsora winning Best Pati and Best Patni respectively.
The evening was steeped in nostalgia as legendary characters were honoured once more. Amar Upadhyay’s Mihir and Smriti Irani’s Tulsi recreated their iconic magic, receiving the titles of Favourite Pati and Best Patni, much to the delight of long-time fans.
Star Parivaar Awards will be shown on Star Plus on Sunday 12th October at 19:00.
