Colors TV’s long-running supernatural drama ‘Naagin’ is set to return for its seventh season, with reports suggesting that Priyanka Chahar Choudhary has been signed as the new lead.
The actress, who rose to fame with her role in ‘Udaariyaan’ and later became a household name following her stint on ‘Bigg Boss 16’, is said to be stepping into the coveted role of the shape-shifting serpent queen.
While speculation around her casting has been circulating for weeks, neither broadcaster Colors TV nor producer Ekta Kapoor has officially confirmed the development. A teaser for ‘Naagin 7’ was released in August, fuelling anticipation among fans, but the lead cast remains unannounced.
Since its launch in 2015, ‘Naagin’ has become one of Indian television’s most successful franchises, known for its blend of fantasy, melodrama, and high-stakes storytelling. Each season introduces a fresh female protagonist, with previous leads including Mouni Roy, Surbhi Jyoti, Nia Sharma, Surbhi Chandna, and Tejasswi Prakash—all of whom have left a lasting impact on the show’s legacy.
