Salman Khan distances himself from ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ amid controversy

Netflix’s ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ has stirred controversy for allegedly disrespecting the legacy of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore.

Following reports that Salman Khan received a legal notice regarding the matter, the actor has formally distanced himself from the series. His representatives issued a statement clarifying his lack of involvement with the show.

“We are not associated with ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ on Netflix,” Khan’s representatives stated, refuting media claims. “Reports suggesting that Salman Khan and SKTV have received a legal notice are inaccurate.”

The notice was issued on 1st November on behalf of Dr. Mondal, President of the Bongo Bhashi Mahasabha Foundation (BBMF). It accuses the show’s creators of offending cultural sentiments by showing disrespect toward the Bengali poet.
