Filmmaker Rohit Shetty is reportedly set to reunite with Ajay Devgn for the highly anticipated fifth instalment of the ‘Golmaal’ franchise, with production expected to commence in 2026.
According to sources cited by PinkVilla, Shetty is currently filming the Rakesh Maria biopic, starring John Abraham, in Mumbai. The project is expected to wrap up by September 2025, with the filmmaker aiming to finalise the edit by year-end for an early 2026 release.
Once the biopic is completed, Shetty will immediately begin preparations for ‘Golmaal Five’, with the film expected to go on floors by February/March 2026.
The script is currently being developed by a new team of writers, with an expected completion date of September 2025, allowing time for final dialogue revisions and polishing.
‘Golmaal Five’ is expected to bring together original franchise stars, including Arshad Warsi, Tushar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu, Shreyas Talpade, and Johnny Lever, alongside Ajay Devgn.
