Hrithik Roshan has allegedly requested the makers of ‘War 2’ to trim the film by 15 minutes, citing concerns over its original runtime of 3 hours and 10 minutes.
According to reports, a behind-the-scenes power struggle has been quietly unfolding between Roshan and director Ayan Mukerji, centred around creative control of the much-anticipated action thriller. The initial cut of the film was deemed “indulgent” by Roshan, who advocated for a more concise and tightly edited version.
Mukerji is said to have agreed to a seven-minute reduction, which was subsequently approved by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). However, Roshan reportedly took matters further, personally overseeing the removal of an additional ten minutes, bringing the final runtime to 2 hours and 53 minutes.
Yash Raj Films have not commented on the reports.
