Birthday Love: Five remakes of popular songs featuring Rajkummar Rao

Rajkummar Rao has wowed the audience again and again with his different roles. Even the songs from his films are becoming more and more popular.

As Rajkummar Rao celebrates his birthday on the 31st August, BizAsiaLive.com will look at five remakes of popular songs featuring the actor.

Naari Naari from ‘Made In China’ (2019)
This fresh new version had the vocals of Vishal Dadlani, Jonita Gandhi and Sachin-Jigar. The partnership of Rao and Mouni Roy together visually made the song enjoyable with their electrifying dance performances. The song was fun and many would agree that this remake is actually a worthy tribute to the original.

The original version ‘ Habibi Dah’ (Nari Narain) was sung by Hisham Abbas and Jayashri and released in the year 2001. The song had both Arabic and Hindi lyrics which made it very unique at the time. This version received a lot of love from around the world making it a popular number even today.

Na Na Na Na Re from ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’ (2024)
Daler Mehndi is a name that a lot of 90’s kids will remember. This Punjabi artist made many appearances in Bollywood films and in this particular song from ‘Mrityudaata’ (1997), he appeared onscreen with the one and only Amitabh Bachchan. Singing alongside Mehndi was Sudesh Bhosle who sung for Bachchan.

Once again after nearly thirty years this song is back bringing with it the legend Mehndi and his son Gurdeep Mehndi, who sung alongside his father in this version. While the choreography in some parts could have been better Rao and Tripti Dimri did their best to entertain the audience with their energetic performances.

Deedar De from ‘Chalaang’ (2020)
Sunidhi Chauhan and Krishna Beuraa had sung the original version for the 2005 film ‘Dus’. The music was created by Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani and the lyrics were written by Panchhi jalonvi. Mayte Garcia starred in the music video and was appreciated for how well she danced on the song.

The new version was picturised on both Nushrratt Bharuccha and Rao who were dressed in traditional Indian outfits. Singing for the actors were new artists Asees Kaur and Dev Negi. While many could argue which version of the song was better both Rao and Bharuccha danced exceptionally well on this fast paced number.

Sajna Ve Sajna from ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’ (2024)
The 2004 version was taken from the film ‘Chameli’ in which the glamorous Mahek Chahal is dancing alongside other background dancers at a bar. Sung by Sunidhi Chauhan this version was soft but it managed to leave an impression on the listener thanks to Chauhan’s mesmerising vocals.

Twenty years later Chauhan’s vocals are as powerful as ever captivating the listener. Joining her was Divya Kumar and this time the actress in the video was Shehnaaz Gill who suited Chauhan’s vocals very well.

Many were pleasantly surprised to see Gill make an appearance in this song as she looked stunning and danced beautifully. Though it was for a short space of time Rao can be seen matching steps with Gill in the song.

Dekhha Tenu from ‘Mr And Mrs Mahi’ (2024)
When this version released it brought back many memories for a lot of people. It reminded them of the original taken from the film ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ (2001) which was sung by Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik, Sunidhi Chauhan, Amitabh Bachchan, Aadesh Shrivastava and Sudesh Bhosle.

The new Rao and Janhvi Kapoor version was majestic and perfect for any wedding taking place. Sung in the soothing vocals of Mohammad Faiz this beautiful composition was created by Jaani who also wrote the heart touching lyrics.

The team at BizAsiaLive.com wishes Rajkummar Rao a very happy birthday! For more features please do check out the website.
