Alia Bhatt is poised to make her digital debut with her first feature-length collaboration with Amazon Prime Video. Having previously served as executive producer on the critically acclaimed crime drama series ‘Poacher’, Bhatt now steps into a new creative role with her next project.
According to reports, she has finalised her upcoming feature under her production banner, Eternal Sunshine Pictures. Teaming up with Chalkboard Entertainment—the studio behind ‘Gulmohar’, ‘Jaadugar’, and ‘The Mehta Boys’, Alia is producing a high-concept coming-of-age drama for Amazon Prime Video.
The yet-untitled film will be directed by Sreeti Mukerji, who makes her feature debut after assisting Ayan Mukerji on ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ and ‘Brahmastra’. Described as a vibrant campus drama in the vein of ‘Wake Up Sid’, the story will be told from a young woman’s perspective and will feature a cast of mostly fresh, young talent.
Set against the backdrop of an Indian college, the film is scheduled to begin production in October. With its youthful energy and contemporary themes, the project marks an exciting new chapter in Bhatt’s evolving career as both actor and producer.
