Ahan Shetty to feature in India’s first horror film based on real-life tragedy

Ahan Shetty is set to take a bold leap in his career, starring in India’s first horror feature inspired by a real-life national tragedy. The film will be produced by Khyati Madaan’s Not Out Entertainment in collaboration with Prashant Gunjalkar, and is scheduled to commence production in early 2026.

The screenplay is penned by acclaimed writer-director Patrick Graham, best known for creating ‘Ghoul’ and ‘Betaal’, India’s only two horror series developed under Blumhouse Television, the global studio behind genre-defining hits such as ‘Get Out’, ‘The Purge’, and ‘Paranormal Activity’. The project is being positioned as a theatrical horror experience that blends psychological thrills with emotional depth, set against the backdrop of a significant historical event.

Ahan Shetty made his cinematic debut with ‘Tadap’, a commercially successful romantic drama produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. He will next be seen in the high-profile patriotic drama ‘Border 2’, alongside Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Varun Dhawan, slated for release on Republic Day 2026.
