Anurag Basu has remained circumspect regarding speculation over Aamir Khan’s potential involvement in the long-awaited Kishore Kumar biopic, a project that has seen numerous delays since its inception over a decade ago.
Rumours have intensified suggesting that Khan may take on a key role in either the film’s production or its cast. Asked directly whether Khan had replaced Ranbir Kapoor, Basu responded with caution, “No comment… Until everything is finalised and the contract is signed, I don’t think I should speak on it.”
Expressing measured hope, he added, “This project has weathered many ups and downs. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it finally takes off. I’ve held onto this story for ten years now, and I don’t want to jinx it by discussing it prematurely.”
Meanwhile, Amit Kumar, son of the legendary singer, confirmed his limited knowledge of the current status. “Nothing is finalised. As per our legal team’s directive, we’re unable to disclose any developments,” he stated.
