Lyca Xtra – Launch date confirmed

Lyca Radio Network has announced the launch of Lyca Xtra, a new weekly podcast designed to amplify the voices and perspectives of the British Asian community. Launching on 29th of January 2026 (Thursday), the podcast reflects the network’s strapline, ‘The Sound of the British Asian Generation’, and will deliver a dynamic mix of culture, commentary and contemporary issues.

Commenting on the launch, Raj Baddhan, CEO of Lyca Radio Network, says, “This is a significant step for us and a natural extension of our highly successful radio brands. Speech-led content has long been underrepresented on UK Asian commercial radio, and Lyca Xtra addresses that gap. The podcast features engaging round-table debates that resonate with our audience, alongside interviews exploring health, finance and lifestyle topics that matter to British Asians.”

Lyca Xtra will be available on all major audio platforms, including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Amazon Music, YouTube, Audible, JioSaavn and Gaana, ensuring wide accessibility from launch. A visual edition also accompanies the podcast, extending its reach across Lyca Radio’s Instagram and YouTube channels.

Each episode will offer a broad editorial mix, combining in-depth discussions on sensitive topics often overlooked within South Asian communities with interviews featuring leading business figures, celebrities and entrepreneurs. The podcast also explores lifestyle themes such as health, the economy and politics, reflecting the evolving interests and concerns of its audience.

Hosted by presenters from across the Lyca Radio Network, and featuring celebrity guests for special editions, Lyca Xtra is set to become a fresh and influential voice in British Asian media from this month.

The launch of Lyca Xtra follows Lyca Radio’s recent digital expansions, further extending the network’s footprint across audio and online platforms.
