Our History
2014
Lyca Group acquires radio frequencies
Lyca Group acquired 1458AM & 1035AM frequencies from a rival broadcaster after it entered administration. As a part of the acquisition, Lyca Group also bought the Time FM frequencies in Romford and Slough
2015
Lyca Radio & Dilse Radio christened
After a huge listener competition hunt, 1458AM was christened Lyca Radio, while 1035AM was named Dilse Radio.
2021
Lyca Gold is born
Raj Baddhan, Lyca Radio Network replaced Dilse Radio with Lyca Gold, as the UK's first retro Asian music station
2021
Lyca Radio mobile app launches
Lyca Radio mobile app was updated with a unique approach, including a fresh look, plus live streams, listen back & exclusive content for online users

Lyca Group becomes No.1
Lyca Group's Lyca Radio & Lyca Gold was crowned London's No.1 Asian commercial radio network, in RAJAR
2023
Lyca Group acquires Asian Sound Radio
Lyca Radio Network extended its footprint by acquiring 30-year old station, Asian Sound Radio in Manchester.

Lyca Radio - Greater Manchester goes live
Asian Sound Radio was rebranded to Lyca Radio - Greater Manchester in April 2024

Lyca Radio - Leicester launches
Lyca Radio Network fast expanded its portfolio with the launch of its Leicestershire service, with unique networking including local news, travel and events

Lyca Radio launches 3 Online Stations
Lyca Radio Network became the first UK Asian commercial radio brand to launch a 90s Bollywood service, called Lyca Radio 90s and a Punjabi music-led station, Lyca Radio Punjabi and Lyca Gold 2 – to complement, Lyca Gold, which is London’s No.1 Asian Retro Music Station.

Lyca Radio launches Lyca Xtra
Lyca Radio Network expanded into new territory by launching Lyca Xtra – a podcast made for British Asians, with lifestyle topics, focus on entrepreneurs and roundtable debates that provide real talk about concerns British Asians may have.
