Urmila Matondkar and her husband Mohsin Akhtar Mir have reportedly filed for divorce after eight years of marriage.
According to Hindustan Times, Matondkar has called it quits, with the separation allegedly not occurring on mutual terms.
A source told the publication, “She has already filed for divorce in court. While the reason behind the separation is still not known, the divorce isn’t happening on mutual terms.” The couple, who tied the knot in 2016 in a private ceremony, has largely kept their relationship away from the public eye.
At the time of her wedding, Matondkar had shared her views on marriage, saying, “I always used to say it will happen at the right time with the right person. So yes, I think marriage needs to be another space in your life which hopefully makes it better, and takes your life, personality, and everything into a better space. Because growth and evolution need to be a consistent part of human life, that’s what I have believed from my childhood. So that growth needs to be there, and that your companion brings into your life.”
As of now, neither Matondkar nor Mir has issued any public statement addressing the reports of their divorce, leaving fans and followers speculating about the reasons behind the split.
