After earning well in its first week, Kangana Ranaut and Ankita Lokhande'sManikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi maintained a steady pace in its second week at the box office. Despite facing stiff competition from Vicky Kaushal's Uri: The Surgical Strike and Nawazuddin Siddiqui's Thackeray it garnered good footfalls and collected Rs 23.40 crore in its second week. It currently stands with the grand total of Rs 84.55 crore. Though it will struggle to enter the Rs 100 crore club since there are very limited screens for the film now.
Apart from the domestic circuit, the historical drama has done a rocking business in the international markets by grossing over Rs 15 crore. Talking about Manikarnika, it is directed by Kangana Ranaut and Krish, and also features Jisshu Sengupta, Atul Kulkarni, Danny Danzongpa, Vaibhav Tatwawaadi and Suresh Oberoi in key roles. The music of Manikarnika is composed by the terrific trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, while the lyrics are penned by Prasoon Joshi.
Apart from the cinegoers, veteran actresses like Waheeda Rehman, Asha Parekh and Raveena Tandon praised Kangana For her brilliant act. Ankita Lokhande, who plays the character of Jhalkaribai in the film said, "I have loved 'Manikarnika...' and I have loved Kangana for what she is. Most of my scenes have been shot by her, and that's for sure. I respect her for that. I think I am becoming Jhalkaribai, and I am really guarding my Rani Laxmibai, because she is Rani Laxmibai... She has proved herself. I am playing my character here also in my real life. I am actually protecting Rani Laxmibai."
